Dang Ngo was raised and educated in southern California, but has returned to his roots and is now based in Bangkok, Thailand shooting mainly environmental and social issues.
Dang is intelligent, tech-savvy, and has extensive experience traveling and photographing in, and transmitting images from, Asia, particulary southeast Asia. He is as comfortable in front of the computer as he is behind the camera. His photos have appeared in numerous publications including Newsweek, Stern View, Los Angeles Times, and Chicago Tribune.
In January 2006, his Monk in Waterfall photo was awarded the Editor's Choice and Reader's Choice in the 2005 MSNBC Year in Pictures. Readers also voted it as the top photo of 2005.
